Master Pet Stylist, Meritus
Petcare 300 Program

The ultimate accomplishment of an ISCC Master Pet Stylist the Meritus program is designed for excellence. All written and practical examinations are an advanced level certification and require a grade average of 85% or higher for completion. Three years pet styling experience plus completion of the DermaTech and Master Pet Styling programs are required for eligibility into the Meritus program. Individuals attaining the ISCC Master Pet Stylist Meritus status may elect to enter the ISCC Consultant and Certifier training program.

Meritus Thesis
A research paper on an assigned subject. Subjects are chosen from the field of Pet Styling and can include such topics as History of Shears, Dynamics of Canine Movement, Animal Behavior or The History and Styling Techniques of a Specific Breed, etc.

Practical Skills Exam

Meritus Styling Presentation
Individuals participating in the Meritus program are assigned a pet styling demonstration that relates to their Meritus project. One year is given to adequately prepare for a practical skills demo and performance before an ISCC panel of their peers. Evaluation of their performance is based upon the individual's ability to convince the panel of their excellent:

  • Knowledge of breed standards & locomotion
  • Performance skills
  • Pet Styling skills
  • Communication Skills, Image & Demeanor

Applicants participating in the Meritus program are assigned a counselor for guidance as they prepare for their Meritus project & presentation.

Awards and Certificates

Individuals who complete their Meritus project and presentation with a grade of 85% or higher are awarded a Certificate of Merit and the title of Master Pet Stylist Meritus.
